A U.S. online car shopping site reviewing cars and the best of the Web, has named the 2011 model i45, known as Sonata in North America, ‘Best Car to Buy 2011’.

The 2011 model i45 topped The Car Connection listing among all vehicles with a base price of less than US$50,000*, from a field of 40 nominees. In earning this distinction, the 2011 model i45 won the award ahead of luxury competitors including the Acura TSX, the Infiniti M37 and the new BMW 5-Series.
The winner is selected from reviews written by the The Car Connection editors, who road-test nearly every new vehicle introduced each year. Editors rated each new vehicle for performance, styling, utility, features, safety, and assigned a green score, then incorporated opinions from the around the Web in each review. The result is a unique, one-stop car rating and review helping to make auto shopping easier for consumers.

Meanwhile, also in the U.S., Consumers Digest Magazine has named both the 2011 model Hyundai i45 and Genesis sedan ‘Best Buy’ in their respective categories.
The ratings are based on behind-the-wheel assessment, safety ratings, ownership costs, warranty, price, comfort, ergonomics, styling and amenities. The i45 is a ‘Best Buy’ in the Family Car category, while the Genesis sedan took the award for the Luxury Car category.
The Automotive Best Buy Awards reflect Consumers Digest’s view of which 2011 model vehicles offer exceptional value for the money in the U.S. A panel of six automotive experts evaluate the vehicles from behind-the-wheel on an ongoing basis, under real-world conditions, in their own test-drives and at manufacturers’ new-model introductions.
