Leisel Jones has joined forces with Hyundai as Green Diesel Ambassador

[17.09.08] Leisel Jones swims from Blue Water to ‘Green Diesel’ with HyundaiHyundai is delighted to announce that the Olympic triple gold medallist, World Champion and record holder Leisel Jones has joined forces with the company as its ‘Green Diesel’ Ambassador.
“The Hyundai brand has come a long way in a short time,” Leisel commented. “I am really impressed with Hyundai’s positive approach to the environment through showcasing its CRDi ‘Green Diesel’ technology in various events around Australia. I have been driving an i30 since the lead up to the Beijing Olympics and I’m glad to be back in it again.”

Hyundai has seen sales of its i30 hatch continue to grow with Diesel engine variants representing around 60% of sales in the last 3 months. Last weekend a production i30 CRDi ‘Green Diesel’ won its class in the 2008 QUIT Targa West tarmac rally staged in Perth.
“We have been looking for a high profile environmentally conscious Australian personality to work with us on our ‘Green Diesel’ program,” said Kevin McCann, Hyundai’s Director of Sales and Marketing. “We have some of the most fuel efficient and environmentally friendly Diesel cars and Leisel shares our goal of making Australia a more environmentally conscious society.”
Leisel will be appearing on Hyundai’s stand at the upcoming 2008 Australian International Motor Show in Sydney, as well as future ‘Green Diesel’ themed events currently being developed by Hyundai.
